LAKKI MARWATl: Security forces on Wednesday shot dead 12 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat, the police stated on Wednesday.
In a statement, police said the terrorists belonged to Azhar-u-din group and had killed six policemen in an attack in December 2022.
The police further added that the armed men were headed to Tank to carry out an attack, where they were targeted by the security forces.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the dead terrorists’ possession. The process of identifying the outlaws is underway, police officials added.

Earlier in the month of January, police repulsed an armed attack of the terrorists on a police station in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Police told the media that all officials at the Wargara police station remained safe in the terrorist attack.
The terrorists faced strong retaliation by the police force and locals. The terrorists managed to escape from the scene by taking advantage of the darkness of the night.
